International Roadcheck will Run May 17 – 19

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) announced that this year’s International Roadcheck is scheduled for May 17 – 19, 2022. The CVSA establishes a specific emphasis each year for inspections. This year’s focus is on the commercial motor vehicle’s (CMV) wheel ends, which include the wheels, rims, hubs, and tires. Wheel end components help support a CMV’s stability, control, and are essential for braking when hauling heavy loads.

Violations involving wheel end components historically account for about one quarter of the vehicle out-of-service violations discovered during Roadcheck. Past inspection data shows that wheel end component violations are normally among the top 10 violations found.

How Can You Help Avoid These Violations?

Encourage your drivers to perform thorough vehicle inspections; including checking wheel end components during pre- and post-trip. To help drivers and motor carriers prepare for this year’s International Roadcheck, CVSA created an informational flyer on wheel ends and what inspectors will be checking for during inspections.
