Five Strategies for Better Worker Safety

August 2016

Controlling exposures to hazards is the fundamental method of protecting workers. The hierarchy of controls, a five-level model designed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), is a widely used means of determining how to implement feasible and effective safety solutions.

Hierarchy of Controls

Following this hierarchy normally leads to inherently safer systems, where the risk of illness has been substantially reduced.

Participants of this webinar will gain:

  • a breakdown of the model's fundamental methods,
  • real-life examples of businesses using the model, and
  • insight and tools for implementing the model.
