The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently issued a final rule increasing the salary thresholds used to determine whether executive, administrative, and professional employees are to be exempt from federal overtime requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The department’s final rule is scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2024.
