North Risk Hires Mike Jacobs as Firm’s Twin Cities Division President

On Sept. 12, insurance veteran and seasoned leader Mike Jacobs joined North Risk Partners as the firm’s Twin Cities division president. Jacobs comes to North Risk with over 35 years of property and casualty insurance experience and has held multiple leadership roles in large operations, including Oswald Companies, Ahmann-Martin, Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, and most recently USI Insurance Services as the property and casualty practice leader for Minnesota.

Jacobs will work closely with North Risk’s current Twin Cities division president, Stan Hamann, who is also a long-serving leader in the industry and oversaw the division’s growth to $30 million in revenue.

Hamann most recently served as division president and senior vice president of the firm’s employee benefits practice across its five-state footprint. In transitioning his division president duties to Jacobs, Hamann’s focus will shift to his role leading North Risk’s $25 million employee benefits practice.

Jacobs will be at the helm of North Risk’s largest division which accounts for one-third of the company’s $90 million in overall annual revenue. He will be responsible for leading revenue growth and ensuring a strong culture for the division’s more than 100 employees.

In addition to his division president role, Jacobs will join North Risk’s leadership team and specifically focus on large commercial property and casualty strategy.
