North Risk Partners Introduces Brand Refresh Reflecting Continued Growth and Future Momentum

June 9, 2026 – In May 2026, North Risk Partners began introducing updated visual and design elements as part of a brand refresh that reflects the firm’s growth and evolution since its founding in 2013.

The refresh modernizes how North Risk shows up in the market while staying grounded in what has defined the firm’s success—its advisory approach, culture of service, strong values, and trusted client relationships.

Since 2013, North Risk Partners has grown from $20 million to more than $100 million in agency revenue, becoming a top independent insurance firm with over 450 employees and 29 offices across the Midwest.

“This brand refresh is a sharpening of our visual and verbal messaging,” says President and CEO Chris Meidt. “It reflects the professional progress we’ve made while staying true to our founding mission of service.”

The refresh includes a modernized logo, refined color palette, and an enhanced visual identity. Updates will be introduced in phases throughout 2026 across digital platforms, marketing materials, and client-facing communications. At the end of May, North Risk launched its refreshed website, delivering a modernized experience for clients and partners engaging with the firm online.

Clients can expect the same trusted relationships and service experience they know today. The refreshed brand reinforces North Risk’s commitment to continued growth while delivering a more consistent and recognizable experience across every interaction.

Gloria Thompson and Chris Schneeman were among eight Minnesota insurance professionals who were honored in October for their contributions to the insurance and risk management industry. They’ve demonstrated a tremendous commitment to serving their clients throughout their careers, and we are grateful for their contributions to the insurance industry and North Risk.

Both Chris and Gloria have nearly 50 years of experience in the insurance industry spanning a variety of roles and organizations. They’ve seen lots of changes throughout their careers from technology to new products, but one thing has remained consistent: Providing exceptional service and putting the client first.

Chris began his career in 1978. Fresh out of college during tough economic times, he decided he wanted to be an entrepreneur and a sole proprietor, which led him to selling life insurance. He eventually managed and owned his own insurance firm, SevenHills Benefits Partners, focusing on employee benefits before joining North Risk Partners in 2024.

Gloria started her career in 1976 at American Family Insurance in the claims department. After being invited to train at American Family headquarters, she eventually became a field underwriter. Making the switch to sales, she purchased her own book of business, which gave her the flexibility to further pursue her passion for education. From teaching insurance classes for The National Alliance and Big I Minnesota to helping develop North Risk’s internal training program, if you’ve taken an insurance class in Minnesota, Gloria may have been your instructor.

What does being inducted into the Insurance Hall of Fame mean to you?

Gloria

Being nominated and then inducted into the Hall of Fame means that at some point, when my occupation became my vocation, my work impacted others in a meaningful way. This honor has caused me to reflect and feel gratitude towards those who provided me with training, encouragement, and mentorship, along with opportunities.

Chris

I am honored and grateful for the recognition and appreciate our industry’s professional associations and the University of St. Thomas for taking the initiative to elevate our industry and show young people why insurance is a great career path.

What do you consider a defining moment in your career?

Gloria

Teaching. When insurance/credit scores were introduced as a component to insurance rating, a coworker encouraged me to write and teach my first insurance continuing education class. The teaching never ends, as we educate prospects and clients about the products available and how they can provide some form of financial protection is part of a successful sales process.

Chris

A defining moment for me was being new to the industry as a twenty-two-year-old, I was meeting with a business owner to try and sell him life insurance. He was adamant he would not buy life insurance but said he needed help with improving his group health insurance plan. This taught me to listen and respond to the needs of my clients and prospects first before trying to sell them anything. I’ve been able to help many small businesses with their enrollment, communications and COBRA administration over the years.

What has inspired your commitment to the insurance industry?

Gloria

I’m constantly learning from my clients. Sometimes we help them strategize risk management, listen to their concerns, or help them after a claim. We see firsthand how economic, social, and regulatory changes affect businesses.

Chris

People! Helping folks deal with constant change and seeing how they appreciate sincere and honest help is rewarding and professionally challenging.

Effective May 1, Moorhead Insurance Agency, Inc. in Moorhead, Minnesota joined North Risk Partners, one of the largest independent insurance brokers and risk advisory firms in the Midwest.

Moorhead Insurance Agency, Inc. is an independent agency with roots in Moorhead dating back over 25 years. Current owners, Tom Tvedt and Steve Ness joined the agency in 2000 and 2004 respectively before purchasing the agency in 2008. Tvedt and Ness joined North Risk Partners as Risk Advisors, along with nine other sales and service team members.

A Decade of Growth, A Culture of Giving: CEO Chris Meidt’s Commitment to Service and Leadership

What drives a leader to grow a company fivefold in under a decade? For Chris Meidt, President and CEO of North Risk Partners, the answer goes beyond business strategy — it’s about building strong communities, inside and outside the office. Since joining the firm in 2014, Meidt has transformed North Risk from a $20MM Minnesota-based agency with 13 locations, to a top-performing $100MM agency with 28 offices across the Midwest. His impact has been rooted in a commitment to culture, strategic acquisition growth, and meaningful relationships. But when he’s not focused on leading the firm’s expansion, you’ll often find Meidt investing in something he finds just as important: giving back.

Meidt has deep roots in the Minnesota football community—setting several national records as a prep quarterback and leading Minneota High School to two state titles. He went on to spend twenty years coaching at the high school, collegiate, and NFL levels while getting his M.B.A. before transitioning to the business world.

So, it's no surprise that we find “Coach Meidt” on the football field each fall. During the 2024 season, Meidt served as an assistant coach for Becker High School and saw the team secure their fourth state championship in 4A football. Meidt was featured in the Minnesota Star Tribune for his ties and dedication to Minnesota football: his high school and college alma maters—Minneota High School and Bethel University—and Becker all saw success on that particular playoff weekend.

“It brings me great joy to pour into coaches and players and help them experience something that has meant so much to me over the past 40 years,” Meidt shared. At this stage of his career, Meidt sees himself as a mentor and consultant in not just football, but more importantly, life. A constant theme in his approach is helping others become the best version of themselves, every single day. “Giving your gifts for free without expecting anything in return is perhaps the most freeing mindset you can have,” says Meidt.

At North Risk Partners, giving back isn’t just encouraged—it’s woven into the fabric of the team culture. Through the firm’s Volunteer Time Off program, team members are empowered to support the communities where they live and work. Each April, this commitment culminates in North Risk’s annual Week of Service, when team members across the Midwest come together to make a collective impact. SevenHills Benefit Partners is an independent agency with a history spanning four generations. Father and son owners Chris and Dan Schneeman joined the team at North Risk along with three service team members.

Effective February 1, McKinneyOlson Insurance in Sioux Falls, South Dakota joined North Risk Partners, one of the largest independent insurance brokers and risk advisory firms in the Midwest.

McKinneyOlson Insurance has a strong history of serving clients in the Sioux Falls area with roots dating back to the 1880’s. The firm has been under current ownership since 2008 when McKinney & Allen, Inc. and The Olson Group merged. In 2019, McKinneyOlson Insurance further expanded operations with the acquisition of The Insurance Connection.

With this new partnership, 26 McKinneyOlson team members have joined North Risk Partners, adding new Sioux Falls and Brandon, SD office locations. Preceding owners, Amy Olson-Miller and Steve Tripp both joined North Risk’s equity partnership group. Minnesota Trucking Association Launches State’s First Association Health Plan for the Trucking Industry

Plymouth and Eagan, Minn. – Insurance solutions firm North Risk Partners has partnered with the Minnesota Trucking Association to launch an association health plan (AHP) through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) for those involved in the Trucking Industry in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Trucking Association, which serves as the voice of the Minnesota trucking industry and represents trucking companies across the state, is serving as the plan sponsor. Eligible members of the Minnesota Trucking Association will be able to sign up for comprehensive insurance benefits at competitive rates through Blue Cross, Minnesota’s largest nonprofit health insurer, beginning with February 1, 2024 effective dates.

Association health plans are a category of insurance products that allow small and midsize businesses and self-employed workers from within the same industry to obtain healthcare coverage as if they were a single large employer.

“Many of our members are small business owners who understand the competitive advantages of strong benefits to attract and retain the best employees,” said John Hausladen, president of the Minnesota Trucking Association. “In this era of low unemployment and a workforce shortage in the trucking industry, attractive and affordable health insurance benefits have become even more important. We believe it is critical to provide our members and their employees with access to health insurance that can save them money while ensuring great coverage.”

“I’m proud of the commitment our organizations have demonstrated to create this AHP for motor carriers in Minnesota,” said Gary Helm, AHP plan consultant and employee benefits risk advisor at North Risk Partners. “Using our experience launching AHPs in other states, including for the Nebraska Trucking Association, we were able to define membership and industry for the plan’s underwriting, agree on benefits, determine that state and federal requirements were met, and gain approval from the state.”

Insurance Specialists Team in Big Lake Joins North Risk Partners

Effective July 1, Insurance Specialists Team in Big Lake, Minnesota joined North Risk Partners, one of the largest independent insurance brokers and risk advisory firms in the Midwest.

Insurance Specialists Team was founded in 2003 by Julie Evans. Julie has been an active member of the Big Lake and surrounding communities, taking part in the Big Lake Chamber of Commerce, Metro North Chamber of Commerce, and Ham Lake Chamber of Commerce.

With this new partnership, five Insurance Specialist Team members have joined the North Risk Team including Julie. “This partnership is exciting for so many reasons,” Julie Evans says. “I’m looking forward to the extensive network North Risk provides in terms of carriers and support within the organization.”

Additionally, clients who are employers will now have access to the firm’s value-added services in the areas of human resources, health and safety and more.
